About Laurie's Dance...
This blog is about my hearing loss and cochlear implant journey. I have worn hearings aids for most of my life and now have bilateral cochlear implants. The Divine Creator did give us two ears for a reason and I never dreamed that hearing sounds normally in STEREO would be possible in my lifetime. I am truly blessed to be married to the most wonderful Christian man, Steve, a proud mother to Jason, Chris, Brad, & Marissa, a mother-in-heart to Jessica, Caitlyn, & Jessica (yes, we have 2 Jessica's!), a "Meema" to Jackson, Cameron, Madelyn, Wyatt, Christian, Bennett, Ellie, Olivia, Oliver, & Hannah, honored to be a mentor, friend, & colleague to many, and humbled to be the daughter of the King.

Hi Laurie,
Thank you for your last reply. I would like to know more about your recovery process. How many days after operation were you able to be alone without someone to be at home all the time? What kind of caring would you need for the first few days?

Hello again! Will answer more questions for you! :) My doctor recommended that someone should stay with me for the first 24 hours after I returned home. Some people go back to work a few days later. Others need a week or two for recovery. It depends on the person. Your body will tell you what it needs!
Hope this helps.
I see. The most critical is the 24 hours after the operation. I plan to take 3 weeks off from work.
